Looking for help during the pandemic

Looking for help during the pandemic

Changes to our support helpline

Since we opened the support helpline 07492 575243 at the end of March we have taken over 90 phone calls from about 40 households. Some of these have been one-off requests, while other people have contacted the service regularly. The majority of requests have been for prescription collections.

As the government eases restrictions, the number of phone-calls continue to drop. Therefore, after careful consideration and based on the government’s advice that those currently shielding will be able to go out from Saturday 1st August, we have taken the decision to close the helpline on 31st July. Although, we will of course consider re-instating it, if there is another ‘wave’ of the pandemic.

We give thanks to God for all the members of the church family who have gone out of their way to provide pastoral and practical help to others during lockdown, whether associated with the helpline or simply through caring for neighbours. It has been encouraging to see Christlike love on display.

If you need to contact the church after the helpline is closed, please phone the Rector on 01832 734614 or email tdichurches@gmail.com

May the Lord be with you,

Revd Nolan Robson

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

Psalm 46:1-3
